A trip to Krabi - June 20, 2007

by ahtin77 @ 2007-06-25 - 23:18:36

Krabi is a southern province on Thailand. The most amazing part about Krabi is the towering limestone cliff and fantastic white sand beaches. Maya beach is one of the beaches that I like most.

Day 1: Sgp to Krabi
Arrived at Krabi airport around 7pm something and travelled to Ao Nang Beach by taxi. After left our luggage in hotel, we had our dinner at Nana Restaurant located just opposite to our hotel. We ordered authentic Thai food, Tom Yam Goong, Pineapple rice, Green Curry Chicken and spicy glass noodle. Em..yummy yummy :)

This little girl is so cute and cool. she kept following us for some distances with no reason. We walked, she walked, we stopped, she stopped, no smile and just stared at us. Funny :)

I managed to get a small piece of cake for Hup. 12am++..it was time to sing birthday song.. "Happy Birthday to you...happy birthday to you.. happy birthday to hubby...happy birthday to you" :)

We finished our breakfast around 10am and start exploring Ao Nang.

This sign board catched our attention, "Tsunami Hazard Zone", "In case of earthquake, go to high ground inland". Guess it was there since after the Tsunami case happened on year 2004.

This staircase lead to another beach, and the beach is only be accessible either by this staircase or by boat. It took us ~15 mins climb to reach the beach.

We had a lazy afternoon and it was so relaxing :)

We had Thai food again for lunch.. Ao Nang fried rice, spicy glass noodle, Phad Thai and Charcoal Squid. Still so yummy, I LOVE THAI FOOD :) We also tried the pancake with banana chocolate, what I can say is "Ichiban" :P

We found Macdonals. The difference between the MacD in Thailand and MacD in Sgp or Malaysia is, make a guess ! Yes, they sold pork burger! We tried the Samurai Pork burger, taste wise.. hmm... normal :)

We did some Window shopping around the street and also went for Thai Massage. It was first time Hup experiencing Thai massage and it was my second time, cost us 250 bath per hour.

Day 3 - James Bond Island Tour
*To be continued tomorrow... zzzzzzz.... :)

Day 3 - James Bond Island Tour
It was a day tour, costed us 1600 baht per person. We departed from hotel at ~8.20am and it took ~2hrs to reach our first destination.

Elephant Trekking - It was so fun to ride on the elephant but I was a bit scared of falling down from the elephant. Hehe..no place for me to hold. I realized later that I could actually hold the elephant's big ear :)

Phang Nga Bay Boat Trip - From Phang Nga Bay pier, we started our journey by long tail boat through peaceful canals in the midst of magnificent mangrove forest. We passed by a lot of limestone mountains. Our tour guide commented that this area is like another "China Gui Ling" :P, Yeah, really amazing...

It was made famous by "James Bond" movie, "The man with the golden gun" filmed on 1974. See if you able to will find the island in the movie trailer below. :)

Tour by Sea Canoe - We sailed through "Lod Cave"(a limestone mountain) and secret lagoon. We are wondering how these limestone were formed and it may take thousands or millions of year for the limestone forming.

huh, the pork burger in Thai's MacD is something new to me...I don't think we ever find such recipe in MacD elsewhere other than the one u mentioned in Thailand...

and yes, we love thai food very much and use to visit the Thai restaurant here as well...one good thing about Thai food, it is almost available everywhere in the world...strange for a small population country.

MacD in Taiwan also sells pork burger, but it was a surprise to me that MacD in Thailand sells pork burger too.

Yeah, I also like the Thai food in Sgp..just it is quite expensive and this restrict me from visiting the restaurant too often :(
